Local Business Owners Give Back to Community

Once again, business owners Donna Christopulos and Julie Grillakis, who own and operate Spin City Laundromat, are giving away backpacks stocked with school supplies and a $50 laundry gift card as part of their “Back to School Raffle.”

The kid-themed backpacks are filled with notebooks, folders, glue sticks, markers, crayons, pencils, cases, lunch boxes, paper towels, hand wipes, sanitizer, socks and the gift card.

The raffle began yesterday and runs through Sunday morning, August 18th. Customers are welcome to Spin City Laundromat, located at 182 Chelmsford Street in Lowell, for the giveaway. The drawing takes place at Noon on the 18th, and they’ll also be handing out ice cream bars all afternoon!

The sisters launched the giveaway in 2022 as a way to help their Spin City families with the financial burden of back to school supplies, and as a thank you to the community for their weekly support of the laundromat and services they provide.

“We believe a backpack gives students a sense of belonging and confidence,” said Donna Christopulos. “Providing children the proper tools from Day One is crucial for their well being and further paving the way to academic achievement.”

In addition to the backpacks, the amazing staff at Spin City Laundromat will be giving away pencils and notebooks to kids in attendance on the 18th.
