Lowell High Football Head Coach Shyheim Cullen will be on the sidelines this evening when the Red Raiders take on Chelmsford High.

Earlier this week, InsideLowell confirmed an investigation by the School Department and Lowell Police into a practice incident involving Cullen that led to a player’s injury last week. With speculation swirling regarding what, if any, disciplinary action might be taken, the Public Schools Administration remained tight-lipped, though sources informed us the head coach was still running practices.

The questions regarding tonight were finally answered officially on the 980WCAP Morning Show, when Superintendent of Schools Liam Skinner answered Host Gerry Nutter’s question by stating that Cullen would indeed be on the sidelines calling the shots at Simonian Stadium in Chelmsford.

When Nutter followed up by asking whether the announcement that Cullen would coaching tonight indicated the investigation had concluded and that a finding was reached, Superintendent Skinner responded by saying he cannot comment on personnel matters. However,  InsideLowell has learned the investigation remains ongoing.
