Lowell Venue Receives Boston Music Awards Nomination

Taffeta Music Hall has been nominated for a BMA in the Live Music Venue of the Year  250+ cap category.

Located in the Western Ave Studios (122 Western Ave in Lowell), Taffeta Music Hall started in-person shows in Oct 2022. The 400-capacity room is independently owned and operated by Sean Gordon, Matt Wishnack, Zach LeWinter, and Brendan McGrath.  This is the second year that Taffeta has been nominated for Live Music Venue of the Year.

In addition, Lowell bands The Ghouls and  Tysk Tysk Tysk received nominations for Rock Act of the Year. Tysk Tysk Tysk also received a nomination for Song of the Year (‘Intolerable’)

Founded in 1987, The Boston Music Awards is an annual set of awards that showcases the exceptional musical talent in the Massachusetts area. It’s an homage to the past year as well as an insight into the future direction of music in Boston.

This year’s awards ceremony takes place at Big Night Live in Boston on December 11th. The full list of 47 categories includes ten nominations in each category.

Voting opens to the public once nominees are announced. Each person may cast a single vote, accounting for 50% of the final result. The other 50% is determined by the Nomination Committee. In each category, the nominee with the highest combined votes is declared the winner.
