A ceremonial groundbreaking took place this morning on a much-anticipated development in the city’s Acre neighborhood.
Elected officials and leaders from Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union participated in the ceremony for the new Acre Crossing Development at 10am this morning. The project sits on the site of JDCU’s original location on the corner of Merrimack and Cabot Streets.
The multi-use development calls for a new JDCU office, street-level retail and 32 affordable housing condominium units. It’s scheduled to be completed mid-2024.
It received a $1.72-million MassWorks Infrastructure Program Grant as part of continued efforts to revitalize the Acre neighborhood, which has historically served as home for generations of new immigrants to the city.
