LOWELL – Jeanne L. (Couillard) Osborn, passed away after a brief illness, at age 68 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida. Jeanne was born and raised in Lowell, the third child of the late Raymond and Estelle (St. Hilaire) Couillard.
Jeanne was a fixture in the Greater Lowell Community for over 20 years, serving as the President and CEO of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. She volunteered and served as a member on various boards of directors in the Greater Lowell area including; the Workforce Investment Board, Lowell Telecommunications, Big Brother Big Sister, The Revolving Museum, Merrimack Valley Economic Development Counsel, the Megan House Foundation, Rape Crisis Center and many more. She was an Incorporator at Lowell General Hospital and the Greater Lowell Boys and Girls Club. She also served as the President of the Lowell Rotary Club and believed in their motto of Service Above Self, where she would annually ring the bell for Salvation Army.
Jeanne received an Associate’s Degree from Castle Junior College and her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Business Administration Degrees from Rivier University, where she also sat on their Alumni Board of Directors for six years.
She is survived by her life partner and soulmate, Stephen Sirota, whom was her constant companion for over 20 years. Also, she is survived by her beautiful children, Christopher Osborn and his wife, Ashley and Brent Osborn and his significant other, Danielle Parker and three loving grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Addison Osborn, whom were the loves of her life. She leaves her most cherished nephew, Sean Provost.
Jeanne will be remembered as a generous and great contributor who never said “no” to anyone in need. Remembering her roots as a Lowell girl she enjoyed traveling back to Lowell from her home in Florida to meet up with good friends and classmates. Her passion was to travel to any island in the Caribbean, music, reading and never missed an episode of Jeopardy!
Relatives and friends are invited to Jeanne’s Life Celebration on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4 until 8 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Lowell. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, a personal favorite of Jeanne’s as she was on-going, supporter to her Patron Saint of Hopeless Causes.
