The Christmas elves, disguised as the men and women of IBEW Local 2321, were back at it this morning, spreading holiday cheer at the House of Hope.
For nearly a decade now, IBEW’s annual toy drive has made Christmas merry and bright for local children at the Fletcher Street facility.
Long known for their community generosity, which tops $10,000 annually spread among various community organizations in Greater Lowell and the North Shore, the local laborers lugged bag after bag stocked with items to distribute to the young boys and girls served by the House of Hope.
Through individual contributions, the union purchased over $3,500 worth of toys, games, and even a pair of bicycles to distribute.
House of Hope is dedicated to homeless families in Massachusetts, helping them gain stable housing.
The organization is represented by two distinct sister nonprofit organizations, House of Hope Shelter and House of Hope Housing, that share a commitment to transitioning homeless families into a stable community life by providing tandem services.
Their Learn2Work Program focuses on the need to empower homeless parents with essential employment skills, a positive employment experience, and an increased sense of self-worth to serve as the foundation for long-term employment stability.
IBEW Local 2321 Benevolent Fund is the charity organization within IBEW Local 2321. The charity committee sponsors events, such as the annual Bowling and Cornhole Tournaments, as well as our annual toy drive, school drive, food drive, and Holiday Party.
