As the state’s leading provider of health benefits for Massachusetts employees insured under the GIC, Wellpoint understands the vital role our state and municipal employees play in delivering important services to the community.
And while those elected to office or holding top management positions often receive positive publicity and accolades, it is the hard-working men and women toiling behind the scenes who are the backbone of our government. Often, they do so in relative anonymity.
It is with that in mind that Wellpoint and InsideLowell are launching a new monthly feature; Wellpoint All-Stars.
Each month, we will honor a member of the City of Lowell workforce for their behind the scenes efforts to help residents and our community.
The inaugural Wellpoint All-Star immigrated to the Mill City from Kenya in January of 2013 and began working for the city in 2020. Since 2022, he has served Mayors Sokhary Chau and Danny Rourke tirelessly, doing his part to keep them connected to their constituents.
From everyone at Wellpoint and InsideLowell, thank you Erastus Mwangi for making Lowell a better place!
