The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, in collaboration with Commonwealth Corporation, has awarded Bridge Club of Greater Lowell a Re-entry Workforce Development Demonstration grant in the amount of $250,000.00.
The announcement was made by Lauren Jones from the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, saying the Healey-Driscoll Administration appreciates the support by the Legislature for this critical program that provides training, wrap-around support services and employment services to returning citizens with the goal of improving workforce outcomes among individuals returning to their communities after incarceration (i.e. returning citizens).
Bridge Club of Greater Lowell will partner with Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office to offer a training program to 30 returning citizens with a focus on the Culinary Arts industry and Manufacturing industry.
Successful program graduates will be placed in roles as line cooks at Lenzi’s Catering and warehouse workers, machine operators and package handlers at Spruce Environmental.
