In partnership with Lowell Public Schools (LPS), Middlesex Community College (MCC) was awarded its fourth Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad grant to send 10 educators from MCC and LPS to Cambodia in the summer of 2023.

Members of the trip will present their experience to the Lowell City Council at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26 during the Regular Meeting Presentation. There will also be a Reception held in the Mayor’s Conference Room from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

During the trip, members visited educational and health nonprofits in Cambodia with a focus on how access to education, health, arts and culture within different communities. Their mission was to amplify Cambodian American voices, histories and cultures within classes at MCC and LPS to promote enhanced cultural awareness, mutual understanding and connections, and empathy and shared healing in the community, as well as to center Cambodian American histories, stories, voices and scholarship in future classes at MCC and LPS.
