LOWELL – Laurice Susanne Achin, age 64, a longtime resident of Lowell died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at her home following a long illness. She was the beloved fianceè of Donald Bourassa.
She was born in Lowell on September 21, 1959, and was a daughter of the late Paul R. and Gabrielle B. (Ledoux) Achin. She attended Ste. Jeanne d’Arc School in Lowell and Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, NH and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Prior to her illness, Laurice was employed for 38 years by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, most recently as a librarian.
She was a talented artist and enjoyed camping at Cozy Pond Resort in Webster, NH with her fiancé and their faithful companion, Sunny. She was a proud mom and mémère whose greatest joy was spending time in the company of her loving family.
In addition to her fiancè, Laurice is survived by her son, Jeremy D. Achin; her brother, Paul Achin of Lowell; two sisters, Celine Beaudry of Dracut and Melanie Achin of Nashua, NH; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was also the sister of the late Lise Pelletier.
It being her wish, services were private. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
