LOWELL – Kevin P. Roper, 58, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Debra J. “Debbie” (Perrin) Roper.
Born in Lowell on May 28, 1965, he was a son of the late Walter Roper and stepson of the late Janet Roper. He is survived by his mother, Loretta (Normandin) Howard and was stepson of the late Kenneth Howard.
Kevin had been employed by various Mobil Gas Stations as a manager.
Sports were his passion. He loved all the Boston sports teams, especially the Bruins. Kevin took the most pride in being heavily involved in his children’s sports and activities as both a coach and a father.
Kevin was known for his quick wit. He had an extraordinary way of lighting up any room with his humor.
There was nothing Kevin loved more than spending quality time with his seven grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and mother he leaves three children, Ashley Roper of Lowell, Cam Roper and his wife Rebecca of Ayer, Shayna Tavares and her husband John of Pelham, NH; seven grandchildren, Ava, Aria, Annalise, Lila, James, Janiyah and Jayce; two sisters, Kathleen Reynolds and her husband John and Julie Roper; a brother, David Roper and his wife Maureen; an aunt, Gloria Mazza. He also leaves his in laws, Jean and Charles Ireson, Gary and Denise Perrin and Ronald Perrin; also, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was a brother of the late Raymond Howard.
Relatives and friends are invited to Kevin’s Memorial Visitation on Sunday, from 2 until 5 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Funeral Services will follow at 5 PM.
