The Roberto Clemente League of Lowell represented the city well at a recent tournament in the Bronx, New York.

The International Cup was held July 26-28 at Crotona Park and featured 12U, 14U and 17U teams.

The Mill City entry capped an impressive run by scoring second place in the 12-team field.

Among the stars for the 17U Lowell Pirates were Adriel Guerrero, Anderson Silverio and Anthony Rodriguez.

The squad was coached by Max Diaz and Maria Claudio.

Besides families and fans in attendance, the games were viewed by several scouts.

The strong performance earned the Pirates an invitation to Puerto Rico next winter, where they will again represent Lowell and compete in a tournament February 20-24.
