Lowell – Democratic and Republican mail-in ballots are now available for the February 3 Special State Primary for State Senate, and registered voters may request theirs at www.mailmyballotma.com.
Request forms may also be obtained by calling the Lowell Elections Department at (978) 674-4046. The deadline for requests is 5:00PM on Tuesday, January 27. Voters with requests pending should expect ballots to arrive in mailboxes by the end of this week and may track their ballot’s progress at www.trackmyballotma.com.
Voters are reminded that there is no in-person early voting for the Special State Primary or Election. Voters who do not vote by mail may cast their ballot in-person on Tuesday, February 3, at their normal polling locations from 7:00AM until 8:00PM.
Voters may check their status, update or file new registration, and find their polling location at www.voteinma.com. The deadline for new or updated voter registrations is Saturday, January 24.
This Special State Primary and Election is being held to fill the vacancy caused by the passing of State Senator Edward J. Kennedy in the 1st Middlesex District, which includes Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Pepperell, and Tyngsborough.
The winners of the February 3 Democratic and Republican primaries will advance to the March 3, 2026 Special Election.
