Four months after creating the position, Westford has hired Erik Du as the town’s first Operations Analyst, a position proposed in the Fiscal Year 2027 budget and approved by voters at the March 28, 2026 Town Meeting.

Du brings 10 years of experience in financial and operational analysis across nonprofit, healthcare, manufacturing, and SaaS organizations. Throughout his career, he has helped organizations improve operational efficiency, streamline reporting, develop performance dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making.

With expertise in budgeting forecasting, business intelligence, process improvement, KPI development, and data analytics, Du is described as passionate about using data to enhance organizational performance and deliver meaningful results.

In his role as Operations Analyst, Du will support strategic operational initiatives focused on improving efficiency, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and promoting the Town’s long-term financial sustainability.

He will also help support and enhance the Town’s new Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) solid waste program through data analysis and operational improvements.

“I’m excited to join the Town of Westford and contribute to initiatives that improve services for residents while helping the Town make informed, data-driven decisions,” Du said. “I look forward to collaborating with staff across departments and supporting projects that have a meaningful impact on the community.”

Who Du’s boss will be in the long-term is the town’s next major hiring decision.

Town Manager Kristen Las announced her resignation as Town Manager last week, effective September 30. Las has accepted a role as Shrewsbury’s first ever Town Manager.

The Westford Select Board has yet to name an interim or permanent replacement and will begin discussing the process of replacing her at it’s next meeting, Tuesday August 11.
