Jacqueline C. “Jackie” Brady

Jacqueline C. “Jackie” (Paradis) Brady, age 86, a longtime resident of Lowell died Friday, June 23, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Paul V. Melanson and the late Peter F. Brady.

She was born in Lowell on May 3, 1937, and was a daughter of the late Edward “Arthur” and Lillian (Duval) Paradis.  She received her education in Lowell schools.

Prior to her retirement, Jackie was employed for many years as an inspector by Honeywell in Lowell.  Earlier in her career she was employed by JP Stevens in Lowell.

In 2002, following a surgery to remove a tumor, She took up Jazzercise, which she faithfully and enthusiastically did until she was 85 years old.  She was extremely grateful Jazzercise and Anna for what they brought to her life.

Jackie was a talented seamstress, knitter, and tailor, not only making or altering clothes for family and friends, but by donating her time and skills by crocheting hats for babies at Emerson Hospital and local cancer patients. She was also an avid reader and talented baker and cook.

She will be fondly remembered for her patience, determination, kindness and giving spirit.

Jackie is survived by her two children, Susan M. Melanson and her husband Patrick McMahon of Lowell and David R. Brady and his wife Jaline of Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren, Tasha, Ashley and John; eight great grandchildren; her longtime companion, Chester Deorocki of Exeter; her dear friends, Thomas Mayo of NH and Anna Bayramshian of Westford; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Pauline Brown.

Jackie’s family would like to thank the staff of Belvidere Healthcare Center and Lowell General Hospital for their compassion and care during her stay with them.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jackie’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 9:00am until 11:00am followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00am at the funeral home.  Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jackie’s memory to the Lowell General Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.  For condolences or directions, please visit www.mckennaouellette.com.
