In many local communities, the issue of utility “double poles” draws significant attention from residents. In Chelmsford, there are over 60-double poles. Some have existed for years. The Chelmsford Select Board has scheduled a public hearing on Monday, July 24 at 6:00 p.m. to consider the issuance of an order for their removal within 180 days. Under the Town’s bylaws, the Select Board could then impose a fine of $300 per day for each day of noncompliance.
Below is the public meeting notice. Click here to view the agenda item and a complete list of all 63 double poles in town.
