CHELMSFORD — Chief Colin Spence and the Chelmsford Police Department would like to recognize the skill, professionalism and dedication of the department’s telecommunicators during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
Dispatchers are the primary point of contact for those in the community who call Chelmsford Police. They take routine business, emergency and 911 calls, and provide sworn officers with information they need to do their jobs safely.
Public Safety Dispatchers are often the calm voice on the phone when community members have an emergency, dispatching police, fire and EMS assets, while also reassuring callers and providing life-saving instructions over the telephone.
Chelmsford’s full-time dispatchers are Timmy Goode, Lisa Demers, John Poor, Andrew Houmiller, Kevin Anderson, Patrick O’Brien, Gina DiPietro, Kaila Tirone and Lauren Wegener-Farr. Chelmsford’s part-time dispatchers are Katie Bennett, Samantha Murnane, Allie Hayden, Mark Cianci, Marissa Cameron, Barbara Bilo and Colleen Cullen.
“I want to publicly thank our public safety telecommunicators for all they do for our community and departments on a daily basis,” said Chief Spence, who began his own law enforcement career by working as a dispatcher. “Our public safety telecommunicators are critical to the success of our department. Their professionalism, unwavering dedication and compassion does not go unnoticed.”
