Lowell – Lowell Management Group is proud to present the Boston Pops: Holiday Pops at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on Sunday, December 14, at 2:30 pm. It’s the latest opportunity for local audiences to join the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and Conductor Keith Lockhart for their sparkling and beloved holiday concert, which has become a tradition here in Lowell.
Capturing the magic of the Christmas season and the winter charms of New England, the Boston Pops will perform their signature Sleigh Ride, as well as other Holiday classics, and new arrangements of seasonal favorites.
Santa Claus himself will make a guest appearance during the concert’s finale, followed by the traditional Boston Pops Holiday Sing-along, to bring this special performance to a close.
Lockhart was appointed Conductor of the Pops in 1995, succeeding John Williams. He made his official debut in May 1995 and currently serves as the orchestra’s maestro, having celebrated his 30th anniversary this year.
He was honored with an honorary degree by UMass Lowell at a commencement ceremony in May 2016 and served as a commencement speaker at the event.
