Lowell — The Lowell Senior Center is the subject of a brand-new video that showcases the many programs and services it provides for residents aged 60 and older.
The video, created by the City’s Communications Team, features local seniors and staff talking about how the Center has supported them and why it’s an important resource for the community.
The Lowell Senior Center, located at 276 Broadway, is operated by the Council on Aging and serves all Lowell residents aged 60 and older. It offers daily meals, transportation, wellness programs, benefits assistance, medical equipment loans, and more.
The video stands out for its strong community presence, featuring a wide range of voices — seniors, staff, and volunteers — sharing their experiences in their own voices. Together, they show how the Center supports connection, access, and belonging for older adults across Lowell.
“Every day, we see how even small services – like a hot lunch, a ride to the Senior Center, or a chance to connect with others – can make a big difference in someone’s life,” said Lowell Senior Center Director Kimberly Gagnon. “This video helps us tell that story in a way that reaches new people and reminds them that they’re not alone.”
The video is part of a larger effort to spread the word about everything the Center offers. It will be shared on the City’s website and social media, shown on LTC, and sent out through partner organizations.
“The Lowell Senior Center is a place where older residents can find connection, purpose, and support,” said Mayor Daniel P. Rourke. “This video is a powerful tool for sharing that message with the broader community. We want every senior and family in Lowell to know that this Center is here for them.”
“Too often, residents are unaware of what’s available to them,” said City Manager Thomas A. Golden, Jr. “By telling these stories directly from the people who benefit, this video gives us a new way to spread the word and help more seniors access the services they need and deserve.”
The video is available to watch now on the City of Lowell YouTube channel. Residents are encouraged to watch and share it. For more information about the Lowell Senior Center, visit https://lowellma.gov/373/Senior-Center or call (978) 674-4131.
