Joseph Ready, a well-known local realtor and an active member in Chelmsford’s political scene, is launching a campaign to become Middlesex North Register of Deeds.
Ready joins a pair of Lowell residents as declared candidates, long-time Registry employee Karen Cassella and current City Councilor and former Mayor Sokhary Chau.
“I am excited to announce my candidacy for the open position of Register of the Northern Middlesex Registry of Deeds,” Ready tells InsideLowell. “With extensive experience as a licensed Real Estate Broker and a strong commitment to upgrading technology, improving processes, and protecting consumers, I am uniquely qualified for this role. Throughout my career, I have founded and operated businesses, led administrative teams, and served in various community roles, showcasing my dedication to both professional and civic engagement. I am eager to bring my vision and expertise to the Northern Middlesex Registry of Deeds and continue the legacy of progress set forth by the retiring Register, Richard Howe, Jr.”
Ready currently serves as Precinct 8 Town Representative in Chelmsford.
He previously served on the Master Plan and Economic Development Committees, and was also a Board of Selectman candidate in 2014.
Besides real estate and politics, Ready has also dabbled in the local media world, hosting the “Town Talk” show on Chelmsford Public Access Television and 980 WCAP-AM for a number of years.

I’m Ready for Deeds! Can’t think of a better candidate!
Karen Cassella. Every candidate has stated they want to continue Dick Howe progress, well the person who put forward a lot of that progress was his right hand woman… Karen Cassella.
