The gym at Dracut High School became a forum for business networking for two hours on March 28, as about 200 DHS juniors got a chance to chat with dozens of professionals representing different career pathways.

Much like speed-dating, students selected four professions they wanted to learn about, and they cycled around the gym to spend 20 minutes with each.

The Career Fair was organized by the MassHire Greater Lowell Workforce Board’s Connecting Activities Division, in conjunction with Heather Pintal of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Megan Provencher of Dracut High, and Dracut Economic Development.

“Dracut Career Day showed what true partnership is and how students benefit from these partnerships,” said Gerry Nutter, a Youth Business Specialist with MassHire. “The WorkForce Board Connecting Activities Division, Dracut High School and, especially, Heather Pintal and Megan Provencher and the Dracut Economic Development office, combined to get 34 businesses to participate and, because of that, approximately 200 Dracut juniors got to hear about four different careers they are interested in. “I could not be happier with the way things went at Dracut High School.”

The businesses and agencies represented at the Career Fair include: Boston Celtics; Carbon Colors; Chuck’s Tree Service; Community Teamwork Inc. Early Education; CVS; Dracut Fire Department; Dracut Police Department; D’Youville Life & Wellness; Farmer Dave’s; Hair Illusions; International Union of Painters and Allied Trades #35 Painters Union; Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy of Nashua; Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union; Kevin Willett, Entrepreneur; Lowell General Hospital Radiology Department; LTC Therapy Solutions; Massachusetts AFL-CIO; Massachusetts Department of Children & Families; Merrimack Valley Building Trades; New Hampshire Department of Safety; P.
