Once again this year, local business owners Donna Christopulos and Julie Grillakis are giving away backpacks stocked with school supplies and a $50 laundry gift card as part of their annual “Back to School Raffle.”

The sisters, who own and operate Spin City Laundromat, fill the kid-themed backpacks with notebooks, folders, glue sticks, markers, crayons, pencils, cases, lunch boxes, paper towels, hand wipes, sanitizer, socks and the gift card.

The raffle is currently underway and runs through August 17th.

Customers are welcome to stop by the family business, located at 182 Chelmsford Street in Lowell, for the giveaway. The drawing takes place at Noon on the 17th.

Donna and Julie launched the giveaway in 2022 as a way to help their Spin City families with the financial burden of back to school supplies, and as a thank you to the community for their weekly support of the laundromat and services they provide.

Employees also enthusiastically participate in promoting the initiative, proudly showing off the items and describing their contents.

“We believe a backpack gives students a sense of belonging and confidence,” said Donna Christopulos. “Providing children the proper tools from Day One is crucial for their well being and further paving the way to academic achievement.”
