Kevin Ortin finds the end zone for a third time
There was no stopping the local boys, as Lowell Junior High blanked Manchester 26-0 in the opening round of the Junior Football League Playoffs. The contest was played last Saturday, November 8, at Cawley Stadium in Lowell.
With the victory over Manchester, Lowell advances to the semifinals, where they tackle Hudson, NH on the road.
The Red Raiders were led by Running Back Kevin Ortin’s three rushing touchdowns, to go along with his stellar play on defense.
Quarterback Owen White threw for a touchdown, while Ryan Galvin, Jack McNeil and JC Sotirakos were consistent passing game targets.
The true offensive stars, however, were along the offensive line, with Jeymeson Guerrido, Logan Thurston, Caydin Hamilton, Michael Riel and Isaac Ortiz providing White all the time in the world to find open receivers and opened up huge holes for the running attack.

On the defensive side of the ball, the usually potent Manchester offense was bottled up all day. Reyden Chim, Jeremy De La Cruz and Stanley Ribeiro led the charge for the local gridiron squad.
Prior to the contest, the Lowell Junior High Football organization held a food drive, collecting dry food, canned goods and other non-perishable items at the concession stands.
