The Lowell Police Department will be hosting a Citizens Police Academy beginning Wednesday Aprilv10, 2024, and concluding on May 29, 2024.

The Citizens Police Academy will be held for eight consecutive weeks, every Wednesday from 6:00-9:00 p.m., at Lowell Police Headquarters and the Lowell Police Training Institute.

Academy participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the Lowell Police Department and its involvement with the community. Topics of instruction will include the history of the Lowell Police Department, traffic enforcement, impaired operation, fatality investigations, search and seizure, patrol vehicle overview and demo, School Resource Officers, Youth Services, Internal Affairs, POST, accreditation, Criminal Investigations, Family Services, specialty response units, and public affairs.
