Markley Group Responds to Concerns

During last night’s Lowell City Council meeting, the Markley Group’s proposal for more backup generator fuel capacity was greeted about as warmly as an ICE agent at a Massachusetts Democratic party gathering.

Neighbors, environmental activists and city councilors alike signaled their dismay at the data center’s efforts at powering the increased capacity Artificial Intelligence and other modern day data requirements call for. In addition, the speakers classified Markley as a bad neighbor and implored Lowell’s elected officials to protect the neighborhood and its residents instead of the tech company.

About the only defense offered publicly last night was by City Councilor Wayne Jenness, who while also expressing concerns about the proposal, indicated a document had been shared with councilors prior to the meeting that addressed some of the concerns being expressed.

    You Bastards!
How dare you clean up the River Meadow Brook ?!
Our criminal element has been dumping there and polluting that water for generations !

How dare you invest in and purchase renewable energy ?!
Don’t you know it is more important to look green than actually be green ?!

How dare you work with the city to get aging infrastructure and drainage issues fixed ?!
The neighborhood has been ignored for the past 50 years.
What next? Are you going to ask to have potholes fixed ?!

How dumb are you asking for routine permission in an election year when the District Incumbent is being challenged ?!
People need to look like they are doing something and you are the perfect whipping boy.

Off to the sub-committee with you !!!

This is what happens when you take too long to grease local palms.
You should have put a School Committee members on your payroll sooner. And, if you want things to work out, don’t forget to “donate” during what’s left of this campaign season.
