Dolores A. “Dolly” Trowbridge

Dolores A. “Dolly” (Sudol) Trowbridge, age 94, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at D’Youville Senior Care following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Trowbridge whom she was married to for 55 years prior to his death in 2007.

She was born in Lowell on November 20, 1928, and was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Grabiec) Sudol. She attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, where she was a Girl Officer.

Prior to her retirement, Dolly was employed for over 25 years as a lab technician at Lowell General Hospital.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Michael Church in Lowell and was a member of the East End Club Ladies Auxiliary in Lowell.

Dolly was an avid cribbage player and played in leagues at the East End Club and the Lowell and Dracut Senior Centers. She also enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Nassar Amlashi of Chelmsford; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Kelly Trowbridge of Hudson, NH and James and Dorothy Trowbridge of Lowell; four grandchildren, James Trowbridge and his wife Cristin of Tewksbury, Anna Amlashi of Lowell, Amir Amlashi of Chelmsford and Shawn Trowbridge and his wife Bethany of Hudson, NH; three great grandchildren, Thomas, Samuel and Benjamin Trowbridge; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Jane Monazynski, Anna Sudol, Elvina Sudol, Helen Bye and Eddie Sudol.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dolly’s Life Celebration at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 at St. Michael Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
