TYNGSBORO – Dorothy M. (Frawley) LeBourdais, age 96, a former resident of Tygnsboro and former longtime resident of Lowell died Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Prescott House in North Andover. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl A. LeBourdais, who died in 2012.
She was born in Lowell on May 27, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Rogers) Frawley. She was raised in the Pawtucketville section of Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1945.
Growing up Dorothy was a parishioner of St. Rita Shrine in Lowell, where she was a member of the St. Rita Cadets. In recent years, she was a longtime, active parishioner of St. Michael Church in Lowell, where she was a member of St. Dominic’s Club and the Legion of Mary and where she served as a lector and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for people that were homebound.
Following high school, she was employed for several years by New England Telephone. She retired from St. Michael Church, where she worked in the office for many years.
She was an avid reader and quilter and was a member of the Tewksbury Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Earlier in life, she was a Girl Scout Leader at Camp Machagamee in Pelham, NH.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Robert E. LeBourdais and his wife Patricia of Lowell; three daughters, Sandra M. Kavanaugh and her husband Lee of Pelham, NH, Mary G. Renn and her husband Leonard of Londonderry, NH and Ann M. LeBourdais of Methuen; eight grandchildren, Jennifer DeMarco and her husband Michael, Brian Lebourdais and his husband Lars Seadale, Stephen Lebourdais, Christine Blanchette and her husband Mark, Drew Kavanaugh, Christopher Renn, Cynthia Milne and her husband Troy and Kevin LeBourdais and his partner, Samantha McNamara; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister Ruth Armstrong of Tyngsboro and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Leo M. Frawley, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dorothy’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Tuesday, January 2nd from 4:00 until 7:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Michael Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
