DRACUT – James W. “Jimmy” Lagasse of Dracut, passed away on September 15, 2026 in Boston, following a fierce and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Known affectionately as the family’s own “Jim of all trades,” Jimmy was the first person everyone called when something needed to be fixed, bringing music, laughter, and a helping hand into the lives of everyone he met.

He loved riding his motorcycle with Mary on the back, playing with his band, watching NASCAR with his son, splitting a donut with his grandson, spending time with family on Christmas Eve at his sister’s house and grilling the perfect burger and dog at all the family cookouts. Jim’s family and friends will carry forward his spirit through lending a helping hand and sharing in the music that he loved.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou, with whom he shared countless adventures. He was a devoted father to Bradley Lagasse, Shaina Jones (Ryan) and Jessie Caffrey (Cameron.) He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Declan, Charlie and Bridget Jones, and Dominic Caffrey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, with details to be shared directly amongst family and friends.
