Josette S. Lafond

DRACUT – Josette S. (Beaulieu) Lafond, age 87, a longtime resident of Dracut died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital following a long illness.  She was the beloved wife of the late Roger E. Lafond, whom she was married to for 60 years prior to his death in 2017.

She was born in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada on August 13, 1936, and was a daughter of the late Roland and Lucille (Beauchesne) Beaulieu.  She emigrated to the United States when she was 16 years old and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Lowell.

Josette was a longtime communicant of Ste. Marguerite D’Youville parish in Dracut.

Although she worked for many years outside of the home, Josette spent most of her life tending to the needs of her home and her loving family.

She was a talented cook and baker and she enjoyed traveling with her husband to places like, Florida, Panama, Venezuela, Germany and Alaska and meeting up with friends Monday mornings at Panera.

Josette loved animals and gave homes to many rescue animals from the MSPCA throughout the years, most recently her cherished cat Fred.

She is survived by six children, Roger E. Lafond, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Savannah, GA, Jean R. Lafond and his wife Deborah, Louise Y. Murphy, Yvan S. Lafond, all of Dracut, Lisa J. O’Neil and her husband Sean of Merrimac and Pierre P. Lafond of Dracut; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Serge Beaulieu of Houston, TX; a sister-in-law, Claire Gagnon of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also the mother of the late Lucille Lafond and the grandmother of the late Robin Lafond.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Josette’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday, March 25th from 4:00 until 7:00pm.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 26th at 10:00am at Ste.
