Lillian S. (Koziol) Lyko

DRACUT – Lillian S. (Koziol) Lyko, age 97, a resident of Dracut died Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Palm Springs Post Acute in Chelmsford, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester J. Lyko.

She was born in Lowell on September 18, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Karolina (Nowak) and Josef Koziol. Lillian graduated from Lowell High School and was the first in her family to graduate, which she was most proud of.

Lillian loved bingo and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, always enjoying the games.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Hamel and her husband, Ronald of Dracut; her grandchildren, Laurie Johnston and her husband, Thomas, David Lyko, Jr. and Thomas Lyko; her great-grandchildren, Connor and Katie Johnston; as well as many other extended family and friends.

She was the mother of the late David R. Lyko, grandmother of the late Jeffrey Hamel and sister of the late Adam Koziol, Julia LaPorte, Alice Keck, Madeline Lavandoski, Walter Koziol and Edward Koziol.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at Palm Springs and Compassus Hospice for the exceptional care of their mother.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lillian’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 10 AM in ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI CHURCH, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Francis Conference, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut, MA 01826.
