Roland W. “Bill” Perrault, Jr beloved husband of the late Lorraine B. (Belanger) Perrault passed away at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus, following an extended illness on December 18th 2023. He was 88.
Roland was born in Biddeford, Maine on March 7, 1935, a son of the late Roland and Laurette (Talbot) Perreault. Roland grew up in Biddeford and graduated from St. Lewis High School there. He then graduated from Southern Maine University and in his early years taught High School French and Latin in Greenwich New York. He also worked at the Polaroid battery division in Waltham Mass for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. When he retired, he started recording “The Poets” in Cambridge Mass and produced the Lowell local channel 22 poets show shown twice a week for many years.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Roland volunteered in the Pastoral Care Department at Saints Medical Center. Roland was a communicant of St. Michael Church where he served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He was also an active member and sponsor in Alcoholics Anonymous. On February 1st he would have received his 50 year sobriety pin.
Surviving him are his four children and two daughters-in-law, Elizabeth (Perrault) Tellier of Lowell,MI William R. and Robin (Lee) Perrault of Kalamazoo, MI, Paul B. Perrault and Patty Wentworth of Biddeford, ME, Angeline Perrault of Old Orchid Beach, ME; eight grandchildren, Aja (Perrault) and Jesse Veilleux, Bradley Tellier, Jamie and Laurel (Lindemann) Perrault, Brian Perrault (of Wisconsin), Andrew (Perrault) and Zachary Cannon, Isaac Perrault, Megan (Perrault) and her husband Christopher Smith, and Brian Perrault (of Maine); 6 great-grandchildren Vladimir, Vincent, and Lilith Veilleux, Briar and Bran Perrault, Lucia Smith; Brother Robert Perrault of Georgia; dear friends, Bob and Betty of Hampstead, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him are his brothers Richard and Norman Perrault, his sister Jacquie Perrault, and his son-in-law Leo Tellier.
Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, from 4:00 until 7:00pm on Thursday, December 21st. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday December 22nd at 10 AM at St. Michael Church in Lowell followed by Military Funeral Honors.
