DRACUT – Rosemarie F. (Barrett) Boutilier, age 91, resident of Dracut, died Friday, February 16, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Boutilier, Sr., until his passing in 2010.

She was born in Lowell on January 31, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Rose (Stewart) and Francis Barrett.

Prior to her retirement, Rosemarie was employed for many years by The Christian Hill Nursing Home as a nurses aide and Nursing Services as a home health aide.

Rosemarie liked to travel, she and her husband Robert would take a cruise to Bermuda every other year. Her fear of flying also came to an end when given the lifetime opportunity to take a 10 day trip to Ireland. She enjoyed the occasional night out for dinner, and was often accompanied by her son Bob or her friend Janice.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her two sons, Robert Boutilier, Jr. of Dracut and John Boutilier and his wife Mary Ann of Lowell; her dear friend, Janice Bilby; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rosemarie was the mother of the late Gary Boutilier, who passed in 1978, while serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. She was also the sister of the late Francis, William, Robert and Raymond Barrett and Bernadette Sweeney. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Theresa Barrett and her nephew, Thomas Barrett.

Relatives and friends are invited to Rosemarie’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Michael Church, Lowell. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
