Sheila F. Kearns (Callery), beloved wife, mother, nana, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 14th in her Westford home. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she lived a life filled with love, devotion, and kindness.
Born and raised in Lowell, Sheila was deeply proud of her roots. A Girl Officer at Lowell High School, she carried her hometown pride throughout her life, never forgetting where she came from. She married the love of her life, Bob, and together they built a marriage of over 60 years, filled with laughter, resilience, and a love that set the foundation for generations to come.
The family was everything to Sheila. She was more than a grandmother—she was everyone’s Nana. She had a way of making each person feel like they were the most special, the most loved. A true caregiver at heart, she spent her life taking care of others, offering a warm embrace, a listening ear, and unwavering support to all who needed her. Her home was always open, her heart even more so.
Above all, Sheila was the heart of our family; the glue that held us together, the laughter in our hardest moments, the light that guided us through life.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Robert Kearns of Westford; two loving daughters, Karen Molloy and her husband Paul of Westford, and Erin Doyon and her husband Guy of Chelmsford; her favorite grandchildren who adored her beyond measure, Kelley, Shannon, Calley, and Connor; her best friend of 72 years, Gail McCutcheon; brother Jack Callery; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary (Smith) and Frank Callery; siblings, William “Billy” Callery, Francis “Flubba” Callery, and Mary-Gail “Marty” Callery.
We wish to express our deepest gratitude to Carissa Chapman for the unwavering care and compassion shown to Sheila and Bob. You became not only a caregiver but a true friend to our family. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Though she may be gone from our sight, Nana’s love will remain in our hearts forever, and she will forever be our guiding Angel.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 27th from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 28th at 11:00 AM at Blessed Trinity Parish – St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 North Main Street, Westford.
