Theresa Rose “Terry” (Poitras) Caloggero

SALEM NH – With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Theresa Rose “Terry” (Poitras) Caloggero, a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend who left this world on March 14, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Formerly a resident of Lowell, she was born on February 25, 1936, the daughter of Gerard and Rose (Sirois) Poitras. She achieved her Early Childhood Development Certification and took care of many children over her years in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Terry’s greatest joys came from spending time with her five beloved children, adored grandchildren and admired great-grandchildren. Each moment with them was a treasure, filling her heart with immense happiness. Terry’s life was a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she devoted her days to loving and caring for children through her work in early childhood development. She was matriarch of the family, where her warm and caring nature continued to touch lives ensuring family reunions and family gatherings, where she vowed the younger generations to keeping those traditions.

Terry was a vibrant soul whose passions included traveling, reading, watching Lifetime and Hallmark movies, baking and treasured adventures and moments with her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Tina Coutu, her grandson, Brandon Coutu and her siblings, Doris Demonceau, Gerard Poitras, Irene Hubert and Robert Poitras.

Terry is survived by her daughter, Lisa Caloggero of Salem, NH; her sons, John Caloggero and his wife, Rita, Dino Caloggero and Philip Caloggero all of Bon Aqua, TN; her seventeen grandchildren, Roland and Ryan Coutu, Paige and Nicolas Caloggero, Christopher and Kiana Drew, with whom she resided, Debbie Ferrell, Summer Ferrell-Hillegass, Amy and Abby Weems, Melissa Kinser, Chelsey LeTeano, Geoffrey, Madison and Mikeila Adams, Shayla and Robert Lister; her seven great-grandchildren, Faith, Ava, Cameron, Cole, Aaron, Carter and Briella; her siblings, Roland Poitras of NH and Florence Cahill and her husband, Edward of FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will be remembered for her boundless love and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of warmth and compassion will forever be cherished.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Terry’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 4 until 8 PM at McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell.
