DRACUT – William S. Boumil, Jr., 55, a longtime resident of Dracut died Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Laurie D. (Montmarquet) Boumil.
He was born in Lowell on March 23, 1968, and was a son William S. Boumil, Sr. and Mary Jo (O’Brien) Boumil. He received his education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School.
Bill was employed as a heavy equipment operation for 35 years with Local 4.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, especially salmon fishing, which he did in upstate New York for 31 years. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed playing darts.
Bill will be remembered as a giver and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Ross D. West of Boston and Brian D. Boumil and his significant other, Jaylene Faulkner of Dracut; his granddaughter, Chloe Boumil; a brother, Adam Boumil of Dracut; three sisters, Kimberly LeDoux and her husband David of Lowell, Karen Leite of Dracut and Kristina Wiggans and her husband Barrett of Sugar Run, PA; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred and Pauline Montmarquet of Lowell; sister-in-law, Lisa Montmarquet and her fiancé Charlie Swanson of Dracut, two brothers-in-law, Jay Montmarquet and his wife Jill of Wilton, NH and Donald Roy of Dracut; and nine nieces and nephews, Kristie, Jamie, Derek, Kayla, Alex, Myah, Brenna, Jacob and Victoria.
He was also the father of the late Brett J. Boumil and the brother-in-law of the late Francisco Leite and Tracey Roy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00pm. His Funeral Service will be private. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford.
