The political dominoes continue to fall as we inch closer to the city’s fall election.
District 2 City Councilor Corey Robinson, who had been mulling a run for a city-wide seat, has announced he will stay in his district and seek re-election. Robinson, who was elected in a landslide in the 2021 election, release the following statement moments ago:
“After much consideration and many discussions with my family and neighbors, together with the District, we have initiated a wide variety of quality of life improvements. I feel this is only the beginning. With my neighbors support, I am compelled to see them through. I have been fortunate to serve with a great group of people this term and am confident my three colleagues seeking re-election at large will continue to serve our city tirelessly. Working with the neighborhood has been such an amazing experience. I am seeking re-election as the Centralville, District 2 councilor to continue to assist amplifying the voices that have been left out of the conversation in the past. I am looking forward to continue working with the residents of our city to help guide us to where we want to be. #TogetherWeMakeADifference”
Robinson’s announcement comes on the heels of District 8 Councilor Erik Gitschier’s announcement yesterday he is going to seek one of the three at large seats
