The Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra presents its annual Summer Pops at Shedd Park on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 2 pm. Located at Shedd Park in Lowell, under the pavilion. Seating is limited, but don’t worry, bring your blanket or lawn chairs and find a cozy spot on the lawn.
Classical and popular favorites include Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus Overture,” John Williams” “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” Gershwin’s “An American in Paris Suite”. The LPO pays tribute to Lowell born composer George Whitefield Chadwick and perform his “Euterpe”. Also Copland and Sousa! Every year we salute our armed services with patriotic music led by The Star-Spangled Banner.
The LPO will be joined by the talented student dancers from the Hellenic American Academy, performing traditional Greek dances specially arranged for orchestra for this concert. We will learn more about the sister city relationship with Kalamata in Greece.
This is a great beginning to a great summer of music in Lowell!
