More than a month after the original December 1st target date, InsideLowell has learned that migrant families will begin arriving to the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center Wednesday.
The news was revealed in an email sent by Kevin Connor, from the State’s Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. It was confirmed for us by multiple sources.
“I am reaching out to formally notify you that the planned placements of families into shelter at the UMass Lowell Inn and Conference Center will begin this week. The first families are scheduled to be placed into shelter tomorrow, 1/3/23,” the email states.
No other details were announced, but Connor’s note encourages its recipients to reach out with any questions.
