LOWELL – Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-03) issued the following statement after the Westford Police Department responded to a bomb threat targeting her home in Massachusetts:

I am grateful to the excellent officers at the Westford Police Department who responded swiftly to make sure we were safe and who are now working with the United States Capitol Police and Massachusetts State Police regarding this incident. “It’s a good time to say the obvious: threats of violence and intimidation have no place in our country.”
WCVB-TV (Ch. 5) in Boston reports Westford police responded to the home of the congresswoman at around 8:15 a.m. this morning, after receiving an emailed threat. The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad also responded and the residence was cleared.
