(Update 12:30pm – McAvinnue, Murkland and Wang Schools have also lost power. Afternoon Pre-K is cancelled at all affected schools)
The damaging wind and rain storm moving through the area is wreaking havoc with people’s daily routines, no more so than in the Lowell Public Schools.
The following email was sent to parents and shared on social media:
“We are currently experiencing power outages at the Bartlett, Pawtucketville, Reilly, Stoklosa. Sullivan, and Adie Day Schools. We are awaiting an update from National Grid about expected restoration times, however, they are longer than originally anticipated due to the ongoing storm.
There will be NO Afternoon PreK classes at the Bartlett, Pawtucketville, or Reilly Schools.
The schools affected by the outages are preparing contingency plans for lunch service at this time. We will update families as the day progresses. Please stand by for additional information as it becomes available.
Thank you for your patience and continued support!”

I wonder how many school emergency generators weren’t working because “the parts are on order”?
