LOWELL — Police Superintendent Greg Hudon is pleased to report that the Lowell Police Department and generous community partners gathered hundreds of toys and gifts for children as part of the Department’s 9th annual Holiday Toy Drive.
New, unused and unwrapped toys and gifts donated by Lowell Police officers and employees, individual donors, and community partners included clothing, makeup, action figures, gift cards, books, coloring books, dinosaurs, craft supplies, dolls, stuffed animals, puzzles, board games, fidget toys, sports equipment, bicycles and more.
The toys and gifts will be distributed to Lowell children in need by Lowell Public Schools social workers.
“Our annual toy drive helps bring joy to both officers and Lowell Police employees who contribute, as well as to children in need across the City of Lowell,” said Superintendent Hudon. “I’m pleased to see so many generous donations again this year, and I want to thank all of our partners who contributed toys and gifts to the effort.”

New, unused and unwrapped toys were accepted at donation kiosks at the Lowell Police Department, and numerous community partners also contributed toys. Most of the toys were distributed last week and the remaining will be distributed this week.
Among the community partners that contributed toys to the 9th annual effort are: Target in Lowell, Blue House Santa, LRTA, LRTA ATU Local 1578, Friends of Tyler Park, Milan Pizza, and Mill City Events by Tara. The effort also received a significant boost from Hudson, N.H. resident Mary Mansur’s 90th birthday party, where attendees were asked to bring an unwrapped toy for the toy drive in lieu of gifts for Mansur.
Students from Middlesex Community College’s Criminal and Social Justice Department helped Lowell Police sort and distribute the toys.
