Chelmsford High Theatre Guild up for Seven TAMY Awards

CHELMSFORD – The Chelmsford High School Theatre Guild has compiled seven nominations for the Mount Wachusett Community College’s Theatre at the Mount (TAMY) Awards, which recognizes exceptional accomplishments in the production and performance of musical theatre in area high schools.

The nominations were based on the Guild’s production of “Oklahoma,” which ran from Nov. 20-22 at the Carl J. Rondina Performing Arts Center.

Among the nominations, senior Lily Rogers received a nod for Best Performance in a Leading Role for the second year in a row – this time for her portrayal of Laurey Williams.

The following are all the nominations the CHS Theatre Guild received for “Oklahoma”:

  • Best Performance in a Leading Role: Lily Rogers (Laurey)
  • Best Student Orchestra
  • Best Production Number (Large School Division): “The Farmer and the Cowman”
  • Technical Excellence – Sound (Large School Division)
  • Visual Excellence (Large School Division)
  • Best House Experience (Large School Division)
  • Not-Your-Average Chorus Member: Lindsay Spengler

Award winners in all categories will be announced Sunday, May 31, at the TAMY Awards Gala at MWCC in Gardner, Mass. The event, which begins at 6 p.m., will be livestreamed on the college’s website.
