   Dear Planners, I have attended several meetings of this type. Usually the first 10 minutes is introducing presenters and political puffery. The next 30 minutes is further puffery explaining what a great job the consultants and power players have done so far. Insert slide show. Then “ group sessions” where like minded folks babble and repeat each other.
   Awkward reportage from groups.
   Then time’s up.
   Organizers feel they have “heard the people” and go back to the consultants’ plan.
   And you have wasted your evening.
   Repeat.
