About Gerry Nutter

A lifelong Lowellian and one of 11-kids, Gerry’s family has a long history in Lowell politics.

His great-great grandfather was a district City Councilor, cousin Bob Maguire a former Mayor and City Councilor and cousin Clement McDonough a longtime School Committee member.

Before blogging and radio, Gerry worked at the Greater Lowell Tech and Lowell Parks and Recreation Department, then spent 35-years in the private sector in the printing industry, including the last ten in the role of General Manager for DocuServe Inc. in Marlboro. He also served as an Election Commissioner and on the Lowell School Committee.

In 2011, after his and his wives’ hours were reduced when the State was in a recession, Gerry began blogging with Gerry Nutter’s Lowell, then The Lowell Curmudgeon!

Shawn Ashe, who was booking guests for Saturday Morning Live with Warren Shaw on 980WCAP-AM, invited Gerry on and he and Warren immediately clicked. Gerry started appearing with Warren regularly and they continue to broadcast together every other Saturday on WCAP. In 2022, at Teddy Panos’ recommendation, he succeeded Teddy hosting the WCAP Morning Show through October of 2024.

Now working for MassHire Connecting Activities as a Youth Business Specialist, Gerry works with students, assisting them in getting their first jobs or helping with resumes and interview skills.

When not working, he spends as much time as he can with his wife Donna and his 7 grandkids.

Why Gerry joined InsideLowell: “With the state of the current local media, I see InsideLowell being the place people will go to for local news and opinion on important issues, election coverage and local politics, and I’m excited to be part of the team bringing that to the Merrimack Valley and beyond.”
