These are some of the thoughts I had over the past few weeks, so I figured I’d burden them with you all;
Horror Maura Healy’s “rebate” is one of the best pieces of political b.s. I’ve seen since the invention of “Centrally Located” as a reason to do something.
Her 10% layaway utility plan where you get a reduction that you then pay back with interest when it’s warm out? Useless.
If a consumer needs a break, they can get on a payment plan. In fact, Mass has a date-based moratorium on shutdowns from Oct-Apr for low-income folks. So this “Maura-Thorium” is “Delay and Pay….with interest,” getting some of the gullible to sing her praises while making money for her friends.
Build a gas pipeline you fool!
I was looking into the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. It went offline less than ten years ago and had been supplying about 15% of the state’s electricity. It was notoriously poorly run and owned by out of state companies.
Why does it matter if they are owned by out-of-state companies?
Local is always better. You know what I mean if you had an Enterprise Bank account. How come this heavily regulated asset was allowed by the legislators to fall into disrepair and go offline?
Speaking of disrepair, how long after Skank-a and Suffolk are done pillaging…I mean…working on the high school, do you think it’ll be before a report says it needs major repairs?
I’d say seven years, but given the conditions the new stuff is reported to be in, it will need renovations in five years. However, that information won’t be revealed for ten years.
This snowstorm was fun, and a big one, but for Christ’s sake! Downtown Lowell closed for three days?
Not closed, but parking bans in your major commercial/social service district has to hurt. I thought the downtown was prioritized.
At the same time, I can’t believe how bad people handle a little snow. Like, you don’t have any canned beans or meat in the fridge? Unless you are out of toilet paper, there’s no reason to go to the supermarket to “prep” for the storm.
Also, can we stop complaining about the snow plowing? Well, I just did that, didn’t I? At least can we stop complaining about cleaning out a space and having someone park in it?
That’s life! Suck it up!
Do you think that any Lowell High School Teachers mistakenly went to Lowell Telemedia when they learned water was pouring out the windows?
I feel bad for LTC. They seem like nice people trying to do good things. I can only image how long they are going to be on hold with Comcast trying to get a replacement server.
I know the “Infrastructure Bill” Representative Vanna Howard has signed on to doesn’t limit miles of driving, but it sets up the framework to do so.
Just like right now some towns don’t allow for gas hook ups in new construction. All this under the guise of reducing CO2 emissions.
Now, I’m a childless aging man, so I burn coal for fun. The future of the planet isn’t a concern for me. I’m not Teddy Panos I believe in climate change, but I’m also not the Hyphen, so I see the need to burn stuff.
If you really want to reduce the state’s carbon footprint, quit building housing. Let people move out.
We know that’s not going to happen, but I don’t think taxing working people is the solution.
The ultra left agenda plays great in the wealthy burbs or parlors in Belvidere. The only better lib porn I’ve seen is UTEC. I don’t see it playing in Dracut.
Now, the Sons of Paul Tsongas are pulling for Rep. Howard, but I still say Rodney Elliott wins.
Ryan Gilday posted a pretty cool throwback to the old Lowell Shallot. It was fun to read and see the chart.
I was kind of surprised how much had actually changed and how much was left off that chart.
You can tell whoever the Shallot was probably was a bit of an outsider with access to insiders, but never got the full narrative.
Lowell is all connected. There are decisions that are made for the good of the city…then there’s most of the decisions that are made for other reasons.
Ever since we went with neighborhood councilors, things have been better.
Finally, can someone make sure ALL of the district councilors, especially the new ones, have the City Hall contact list so they don’t have to use Facebook?
