The woman who drowned in an Atkinson, NH pond is a City of Lowell employee.
WMUR-TV (Channel 9) in Manchester, NH reports the body of 56-year old Emer Mezzetti was found this morning after she fell through the ice on Big Island Pond at around 5:30pm Saturday night. Mezzetti is believed to have gone for a walk when the incident occurred.
First responders from multiple towns responded to calls for help Saturday. Unfortunately, the body wasn’t discovered until a New Hampshire Fish and Game dive team entered the water against to search.
Mezzetti was employed as a Payroll Systems Analyst in the City Auditor’s office. The news report lists her as an Atkinson resident.
An Atkinson firefighter was taken from the scene for injuries sustained in the rescue efforts, the fire department said.
