The Town of Westford this week announced that Steven Clark, MAA, has been promoted to the position of Chief Assessor.
Clark brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry to the role. He began his career as a mortgage broker before transitioning into residential real estate sales and appraisal work for banks and mortgage companies.
In 2019, he joined the City of Framingham as a Field Assessor, where he worked under and learned from former Westford Chief Assessor Will Naser. Clark joined the Town of Westford in early 2022 as Assistant Assessor.
As Chief Assessor, Clark will lead the Assessing Department in its mission to accurately appraise all taxable property in Westford, ensuring the fair and equitable distribution of the Town’s tax levy.
“My goal as the new Chief Assessor is, with the help of my great team, to continue the high standards that Will and I established together while providing excellent customer service to the residents of Westford,” said Clark.
Clark is committed to helping residents better understand the assessment process and ensuring every interaction with the Assessing Department is informative, fair, and respectful. He also plans to continue exploring new tools and technologies that improve the accuracy and efficiency of property assessments while making it easier for residents to access information about real estate exemptions, motor vehicle excise taxes, and property tax bills.
“I look forward to spending many more years working with the amazing people at Westford Town Hall and serving the residents of Westford,” Clark added.
