Commissioner Ed Davis to Speak as Part of Parker Lecture Series

The 2025-2026 Parker Lecture Series kicks off September 18 with a roundtable discussion featuring former Boston Police Commissioner and Lowell Police Superintendent Ed Davis.

During an accomplished 35-years in law enforcement, Davis administered six world championship celebrations and ultimately garnered national acclaim for leading the response to the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

His actions during those days were dramatized in the feature film “Patriots Day.” Davis was portrayed by actor John Goodman in the movie.

Davis started his career as a Lowell police officer in 1978. He later served as the Lowell PD Superintendent for 12 years. He comes from a police family and has a broad range of local, state, national, and international experience in law enforcement and public safety.

Davis’ lecture will focus on the ties between policing, politics, and current events. He plans to discuss immigration reform under the current administration, as well as the role ICE plays in immigration enforcement.

The lecture is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at Middlesex Community College’s Donahue Family Academic Arts Center.

Established in 1917, Parker Lectures is a series of events in Lowell, featuring music, dance, history and much more. Admission is always free.
