Lowell Public Schools sent the following message to their staff regarding the cybersecurity incident earlier this week. The memo indicates the network should be restored tomorrow.

“Dear Staff, first, we would like to thank you for your patience as we work to safely bring LPS internet access back. The IT department is in the process of installing Cynet on all staff computers to better protect district computers. All schools should be completed by noon on March 1 and we hope to restore the network once that occurs. Following the installation of Cynet on your computer, you will be forced to change your computer password at login. If you have not already done so, please log off your computer, log back in and change your password when prompted. You will not have access to your email until the IT staff installs Cynet on your computer and you change your computer password. This password change is different from the Google password change you should have recently completed”
