Cullen Resigning as LHS Football Coach

Shy Cullen, who took over the coaching reins for Lowell High Football in 2022, is resigning as Head Coach following the annual Thanksgiving Day matchup against Haverhill.

The news was confirmed by LHS Athletic Director, Scott Ouellet. Ouellet told InsideLowell the former LHS gridiron star informed him that he’s going back to school to finish his degree and that the school fully supports him and the players as they finish off the season against the Hillies Thursday.

“Shy is a Lowell kid, he cares a lot about his players and staff and we wish him the best,” said Ouellet. “The focus is on sending the seniors out with a big win.”

The Red Raiders have compiled a 6-15 record over Cullen’s two years at the helm, pending the outcome of the Haverhill matchup.
